Exploring hidden caves on our caving tours. The Klipgat Cave, formed over over millions of years by exposure to the ocean is one of South Africa’s most historical sites – artifacts and pottery from the Stone Age has been found here. The cave is located in the Walker bay Nature Reserve, next to De Kelders, which actually means “the caves”, owing to the many limestone caves in the area. Around the Klipgat you’ll find sand and rock shores, a variety of coastal birds plus the sheltered waters of Walker Bay that are a favourite with the southern right, Bryde’s and humpback whales.
